Meet Lindsey
Lindsey Harris is a highly qualified behaviourist and dog trainer with a strong academic and practical foundation. She holds a Bachelors degree with honours in Biology from Cardiff University, and a Master’s degree in Clinical Animal Behaviour from the University of Edinburgh Royal (Dick) School of Veterinary Studies.
Lindsey is a recognised Professional Trainer through the Association of Pet Dog Trainers Australia Inc (APDT), and an International Association of Animal Behaviour Consultants (IAABC) member. Lindsey is also an Associate Clinical Animal Behaviourist through the Association of Pet Behaviour Counsellors (APBC), working towards full membership.
Before specialising in animal behaviour she spent 11 years as a high school teacher (and still does this full time!), developing clear communication skills, patient problem-solving and an evidence-based approach to learning and behaviour change. She also lectures on the Bachelor of Education degree at James Cook University (JCU), Townsville, specialising in Junior Science Curriculum and Senior Biology Curriculum.
Lindsey is passionate about the human–animal relationship and excels at translating complex behavioural science into practical, personalised strategies. She thrives on helping dogs and their people enjoy calm, joyful interactions and delivers tailored, realistic solutions that address the root causes of challenging behaviours while fitting within each family’s individual lifestyle and daily routines.
You may have seen Lindsey around town working with Training With Hart previously!
